Kjær Architecture has recently been commissioned to restore and refurbish an apartment with impressive, west-facing views to the lakes of Copenhagen. The residence is part of an iconic apartment complex, designed by the Danish Modernists Kay Fisker and C.F. Møller in 1935-39, featuring curvilinear balconies contrasting with the sharp linearity of the brick facade. The building is historically listed, so Kjær’s design focuses on the attentive restoration of the original layout and details, while simultaneously creating a updated and elegant residence for the client.
