Kjær Architecture has recently completed a full refurbishment of an apartment in Frederiksberg. The apartment spans the two upper floors in a beautiful brick building from the 1920’s. The refurbishment preserves the original character of the space, while improving the layout and finishes. The project involves a combination of precise spatial interventions, and restoration of original traits. The characteristic palette was an initial part of the clients vision, and the space now is balanced with both subtle and bold color combinations, developed in collaboration with the client and File Under Pop. This refines the balance between classic and contemporary in the new apartment space.
Key elements of the design include a grand living room that facilitates families activities, a spacious kitchen that combines both traditional and modern features, and a custom bookcase underneath the staircase. Kitchen and custom cabinetry is handmade by Ocular.
